The Forgotten Dog Foundation is committed to finding loving forever homes for every dog that we save. However, some of the dogs we rescue have medical or behavioral issues that make them difficult to place, but we NEVER turn our backs on a single one of them. Instead, we provide these special dogs a permanent foster home where they can live out the rest of their lives with us. We currently have 18 dogs in our Sanctuary Program that require ongoing care and support. These dogs have a range of issues—some were abused and are fearful of humans, while others have special needs and/or ongoing medical conditions. We also provide refuge for senior dogs and many have a multitude of medical problems: arthritis, skin conditions, blindness, to name a few.
Our Sanctuary Dogs need your love and support! Your sponsorship will ensure that these dogs receive the best medical care, as well as nutritious food, grooming and, of course, lots of love and attention. We believe that every dog deserves a caring and safe home, and we are dedicated to being that safe sanctuary for these deserving dogs. Please help us provide the necessary care that our forever dogs need to thrive. Showcased below are a few of our Sanctuary Dogs that your kind and generous donation can help support. Thank you!

We were notified about Blossom when her owners surrendered her to a shelter after asking that she be euthanized. Fortunately, the shelter vet refused to give up on Blossom and contacted our foundation to see if we would take her in. Of course, we said yes! When we first saw her, we were shocked at the state of neglect she was in. Blossom had double ear infections, hair loss from a flea infestation, dental issues, and severe yeast infections all over her body. Blossom deserved a happy, loving, comfortable life.
Due to her ongoing medical challenges, we made her a Sanctuary Dog. She's now living out her life in a caring home where she gets home-cooked meals, a warm and cozy bed, and a lot of love.

. The Foundation’s founder, Linzi Glass, came across a scene near her home where a crowd had gathered, trying to coax a terrified dog out of the bushes. She quickly went home to grab some treats and a leash, hoping to rescue him. However, by the time she returned, animal control had caught the dog and taken him to the shelter.
The Foundation immediately followed up and monitored his situation.
When we were informed that the shelter had called the number linked to his microchip and discovered that his owner had died—with no family members willing to take him—we decided to take Chipper in. It seems likely that he had been abandoned to fend for himself.
Chipper suffers from fear and aggression, likely due to past trauma and abuse, and is unsuitable for adoption.
Fortunately, he has happily settled into his sanctuary home and developed a loving relationship with one of his guardians. He spends his days with his best friend, Max, and other sanctuary dogs, truly living his best life.

Mama came to us when we received a notification about a dog that had been given to someone living in a homeless encampment who no longer wanted her. Fortunately, a kind woman aware of this situation took Mama out of harm's way and contacted us to see if we could take her in. Mama was so shut down and traumatized by her past experiences and neglect that we felt it was best to make her a Sanctuary Dog.
Recently, Mama underwent an extensive dental procedure where all her rotted teeth were removed. She is now feeling much better and has regained her energy. This sweet dog will live out her life with us in a loving home where she is getting home-cooked, soft food meals, her senior supplements, a cozy bed, and unconditional love!
