Our beautiful Gia is one of most cutest pups you will meet and such a little character! Gia is an approximately 5 year old, female Shih Tzu /Terrier mix who is about 18lbs. We got Gia when she was surrendered to us with her two puppies. Gia and her boys had absolutely no socialization and were kept in a garage 24/7. We believe she was used for backyard breeding. When they came to us, they were huddled together as if they had never seen people before or had ever been in a home before. It took us several months to rehab them into social pups. Gia definitely needs another dog in the home and we see she does best with male dogs her size or smaller. She definitely needs a dog savvy owner who will be patient, loving, and work with her on her transition to a new home. The only love she has received is in her foster home, so we know it will take some time for her to adjust. Gia has terrier in her and we see that she is a “bark talker” so she would not be a good for an apartment or condo type home. She is good with kids 12 years old and older. A thing to note is that she is a bit stubborn in the potty training area. With outdoor access, she will go potty outside, but on occasion when she doesn’t feel like it, she will potty in the house. This could be stemmed from her being locked up in a garage all the time, so we want compassionate owners who will not scold her sternly for this and instead work with her in a kind manner. We DO NOT want her crated at all. She is a dog that likes to sit on the furniture and lay in bed with you and this is something her new owners must be ok with. Once Gia is settled and feels safe, she is one big love bug! She loves to cuddle and be brushed. Gia is a really happy and sweet pup who just needs that extra time, patience, and love to blossom into the best pup ever!
